Your Engineering Instructor
Dr. Akash Trivedi (PhD, University of Oxford) is a lecturer in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, and is a member of the Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering Research Group. He also holds a masters degree (MEng) in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London specializing in Aerial Robotics.
He has been tutoring and mentoring engineering student aspirants for over 10 years. He is currently Lead Tutor for Materials Engineering at the University of Oxford, and teaches Mechanics, Structures, and Materials and Dynamics. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and is a fully qualified Teacher of Science.

He won the 2019 Young Stress Analyst Competition sponsored by Airbus, and has been Student President for Wolfson College Oxford, and Chair of the Graduate Student Committee for the Engineering Science Department at the University of Oxford.

Your Engineering Instructor
Dr. Francesco De Cola (PhD, University of Oxford) is the Principal Engineer in Lightweight Systems and Advanced Materials R&D at Williams. In this role he develops and evaluates exotic materials for application in warfare, high performance supercars, and spacecraft. Previously he designed military ejection seats for Martin-Baker Aircraft, and was a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Impact Engineering Laboratory at the University of Oxford.
His doctoral studies at the University of Oxford were fully sponsored by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the United States Department of Defense, and he was winner of the 2016 Edgell Sheppee Prize in Engineering Science. He has taught engineering at the University of Oxford, and has published more than ten articles on Materials Science in scholarly journals. He has been tutoring and mentoring engineering student aspirants for over 6 years, including at Oxford and Cambridge summer schools for the charity OxFizz.
